Jake

Jake is a gorgeous blue merle Aussie who is about 3-5 years old. He is neutered and utd on shots. Jake is house trained, crate trained, loves car rides and also loves to play fetch and catch frisbees. He is a moderate energy dog and gets along well with other dogs as long as toys are not involved. He is a little overweight and would do well with a moderate exercise program.

Jake needs to go to a home that understands Aussies. While he is not a difficult dog, he has been set up to lose on several occasions and will do best in a positive environment. He has lived with children but the handled him roughly and repeatedly stepped on him so we do not recommend a home with children. He is also not good with cats. If you have a cat, be warned that you are in for some serious management and training.

Jake has been temperament tested and pronounced solid, but he is protective of his toys (where other dogs are concerned) and can be careless with his teeth. Our bet is that he would be happiest with an adult person or couple. He would be fine as an only dog, but would enjoy other dogs to play with on occasion. His foster people report that he is sweet and loving and is a delight to live with.
